Ruth G. “Jeri” Davis, 77, of Londonderry, died 9:05 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012 in Valley View Care Center, Frankfort following an extended illness.
She was born July 26, 1935, in Chillicothe, to the late William Russell and Rozella Byers Smith. On May 7, 1952, she married Robert L. Davis who died June 19, 1995.
Surviving are children, Roger Davis, of Chillicothe Robin (Tony Hammond) Nichols, of Londonderry, Ronald (Heather Kinzer) Davis, of Londonderry and Russell (Beverly) Davis, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Brian Nichols, Robert “Bobby” Davis, Jeff (Angie) Holbert, Rick Vore, Jamie (Mark) Taylor and Stacie (Gary) Pettit; great grandchildren, Erika, Rian, Corbin, Alex, Haelee, Jaren and a special great granddaughter, Brooke Smith; a nephew, Bradley; nieces, Shannon and Shiela; a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Helen Elswick and Donald and Gladys Davis, all of Chillicothe. She was predeceased by a sister, Andrea Byers and brother-in-law, Travis Elswick.
Jeri was a member of the Richmond Dale Church of God. She retired in 2003, following 37 years of service, from Southeastern Local Schools where she had worked as a secretary, the majority of which was spent at Londonderry Elementary. Jeri was a graduate of Chillicothe High School.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 in the Richmond Dale Church of God with Pastor John Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware’s from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
